Privacy statement

This statement explains how HomeSec Business Finance Limited (NZBN 9429047936010) ("HomeSec", "we") handles personal information collected through investmentopportunities.co.nz. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles.

What we collect

When you register your interest we collect your name, email address, mobile number, the entity you would invest through, whether you are a wholesale or eligible investor, your intended timing and amount, your lending experience and anything else you choose to tell us. We also record the page you enquired from and basic campaign information (such as the website or advert that referred you).

How we use it

We use your information to contact you about co-funding opportunities, to confirm your eligibility as a wholesale investor, to verify your identity before you invest, and to manage the loans you co-fund. We do not sell your information.

Where it is stored and who we share it with

Your enquiry is stored in our secure systems (including Google Workspace) and read by HomeSec staff. These systems may store information on servers outside New Zealand. If you co-fund a loan, your details appear on the loan and mortgage documents and are shared with the lawyers involved in that loan and with Land Information New Zealand when the mortgage is registered. We may also share information where the law requires it.

Website analytics

We may use cookies and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used. These tools collect information about your device and visit, not your identity. You can block cookies in your browser.

Access, correction and complaints

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, or a privacy complaint, call us on 09 888 6550 or write to us at 152 Fanshawe Street, Auckland 1010. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
